Morocco Ranks First in Africa for Mobile Internet Speed

Morocco topped African countries in mobile internet speed in 2025, ranking 39th globally, according to the Speedtest index, with an average mobile download speed of 124.32 Mbps.

The ranking is based on millions of user tests worldwide, measuring download speed, network stability, and latency.

Globally, Gulf countries led the rankings, with the United Arab Emirates in first place at 686.12 Mbps, followed by Qatar and Kuwait.

In Africa, South Africa ranked second with 65.70 Mbps, while Tunisia came third at 57.30 Mbps. Despite leading the continent, Morocco still faces challenges in reaching the world’s top internet speed performers, underlining the need for further investment and infrastructure upgrades.
