Two members of the Algerian Air Force died, and four others were injured in a military aircraft crash shortly after takeoff on Thursday, the Algerian Ministry of Defense said.
In a statement, the Ministry of Defense said, “The accident occurred around noon on March 5, 2026, when a small military aircraft of the BE 1900 type, used for transport, made a crash immediately after leaving the runway of the Boufarik airbase, located in the first military region, in the southern part of the capital Algiers.”
The military aircraft was carrying a crew of six people at the time of the accident. However, the authorities have since confirmed that two people died in the accident, while four others were injured.
