Tunisian President Kais Saied Meets World Bank Vice President

Tunisian President Kais Saied received Vice President of the World Bank Group for the Middle East and North Africa, Ousmane Dione, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the Carthage Palace.

During the meeting, President Saied highlighted the strong cooperation between Tunisia and the World Bank, which spans over 70 years, particularly with the International Development Association. This partnership has successfully financed numerous developmental projects, especially in education, stated the Tunisian Presidency.

The President emphasized the need for innovative economic approaches that address the complex transformations shaping the modern world. He stressed prioritizing social dimensions to ensure that human well-being remains at the core of economic and development policies, moving beyond outdated and ineffective practices.

He also reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to social priorities, particularly in health, education, transportation, and social security.
