The FBI identified Shamseddine Jabbar, a 42-year-old Texan and former U.S. military serviceman, as the perpetrator of the New Orleans vehicular attack during New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The attack, which involved a rented truck, left 15 dead and 30 injured. Authorities discovered an ISIS flag, explosives, and grenades in the vehicle. Jabbar was killed in a shootout with police after he began firing at the crowd.
The FBI is investigating possible accomplices in the attack, which officials confirmed was deliberate.
