In response to new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, Canada and Mexico announced plans to levy their own tariffs on U.S. goods. China joined the opposition, condemning the U.S. tariffs and pledging to take countermeasures. The White House stated that the tariffs aim to combat drug trafficking and illegal immigration, imposing 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports and 10% on Chinese goods.
