Cairo Summit Adopts Egypt’s Gaza Reconstruction Plan, Rejects Displacement

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced that the emergency Arab summit held in Cairo on Tuesday approved Egypt’s plan for the reconstruction of Gaza. Meanwhile, participating leaders reaffirmed their rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from the Strip following the Israeli onslaught.

Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit stated that the plan includes specific reconstruction phases and a new political-security framework for Gaza while ensuring its connection to the West Bank.

The summit’s final declaration emphasized the two-state solution, the urgency of a full ceasefire, coordination with the international community, and a call for UN peacekeeping forces in Palestine.
