Italy Approves Program for Voluntary Return of 3,300 Migrants to Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya

Italy has approved a €20 million program in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to facilitate the voluntary return of 3,300 vulnerable migrants from Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya to their home countries. The decision was made today Wednesday during a development cooperation meeting at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The committee also established a fund to support regional cooperation projects, increased funding for civil society initiatives, and allocated additional resources for innovative entrepreneurship programs. These efforts align with expanding scholarship opportunities for foreign students in Italy, according to the Italian news agency Nova.
