Tunisian Company AVIONAV Expands Aircraft Production with New Helicopter

AVIONAV, a leading manufacturer of light aircraft in Africa, recently launched its first helicopter on April 9. The company, based in Sousse, is known as Tunisia’s first producer of light aircraft, offering both two-seat and four-seat models. Since 2007, AVIONAV has exported nearly 40 aircraft to Europe and the Middle East.

Fouad Kamel, the company’s director, stated that all aircraft components, except for the engines, are manufactured in-house. AVIONAV is also preparing to release two new « Made in Tunisia » light aircraft models in the near future.

The company’s recent expansion plan, which began in 2020, includes enlarging production facilities and hiring additional skilled workers. By 2026, AVIONAV aims to increase its workforce to 140 engineers and technicians, with a production capacity of 80 light aircraft annually.
