Tunisia and AU Development Agency Discuss Enhanced Cooperation

On May 9, 2025, the Tunisian Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ali Nafti, met with Ms. Nardos Bekele-Thomas, Executive Director of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), during her visit to Tunisia for the International Conference on Investment and Trade Financing in Africa.

The two officials explored ongoing joint development projects and areas for enhanced cooperation. Minister Nafti reiterated Tunisia’s commitment to African integration within different sectors and acknowledged the important role of AUDANEPAD for regional development and capacity building. He stated that Tunisia is eager to strengthen collaboration in key areas, specifically health, vocational training and employment, and renewable energy.

For her part, Bekele-Thomas acknowledged and appreciated Tunisia’s backing of these initiatives and provided an overview of AUDA-NEPAD’s commitment to fostering collaboration in areas around women empowerment and jobs creation.
