Sfax: Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya Discuss Tripartite Cooperation at Economic Forum

Mourad Ben Hussein, CEO of the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX), took part in the Tunisian-Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum during the 18th MediBat exhibition, held from May 21–24, 2025, in Sfax.

Ben Hussein stressed the importance of tripartite cooperation to address shared challenges, boost trade and investment—especially in construction—and expand towards African markets. He announced the creation of a joint committee to enhance trade links and develop trans-Saharan corridors connecting North and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The forum brought together key stakeholders and marked the first joint participation of Algeria and Libya in MediBat. It ended with an agreement to co-organize the African Construction and Equipment Exhibition in Misrata, Libya, in May 2026.
