Tunisia: 3,500 Migrants Voluntarily Repatriated in 2025

The official spokesperson for the General Directorate of the National Guard, Brigadier General Houssem Eddine Jebabli, announced that 3,500 undocumented migrants have voluntarily returned to their home countries since the beginning of this year.

In a statement to the media, Brigadier General Jebabli also revealed that during the first three months of 2025, no illegal border crossings into Tunisia were recorded by units of the National Guard and the National Defense.

He explained that Tunisia’s current strategy focuses on dismantling migrant camps as an initial step, eventually leading to voluntary repatriation.
