6.1-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Western Turkiye

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Turkiye’s Balıkesir province on Sunday evening at 19:53 local time, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

Tremors were felt in Istanbul, across western and northwestern Turkiye, as well as in Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, and northwestern Syria.

No casualties or damages have been reported.
