Tunisia to Participate in TICAD 9 Summit in Yokohama, Japan

Tunis, August 16, 2025 – Preparations for Tunisia’s participation in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), scheduled to take place in Yokohama from August 20 to 22, 2025, were the focus of a meeting held on Friday, August 15, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting brought together Mohamed Ben Ayad, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, and Osuga Takashi, Ambassador of Japan to Tunisia. Discussions reviewed the key elements of Tunisia’s upcoming participation in the summit.

The talks also provided an opportunity to highlight ongoing cooperation between Tunisia and Japan in vital sectors, including financial, economic, and technological fields, as well as water desalination, while exploring ways to further strengthen and expand this partnership.
