Tunisia and Libya Reaffirm Ties at UN Assembly

On the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly in New York, Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti met on 22 September 2025 with Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister Taher Al-Baour.

The two sides highlighted the strong relations between Tunisia and Libya, agreeing to boost cooperation in various fields and expedite solutions to pending consular issues. They also stressed the need to facilitate the movement of people and goods across their shared borders.

Both Ministers reaffirmed support for a Libyan-led political process under UN auspices to safeguard Libya’s unity and stability. They further noted alignment in their positions on recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
