Colombian President Calls for International Army to “Liberate Palestine”

Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro urged the creation of an international military force to free Palestine in his address to the United Nations General Assembly. He appealed to “the countries of the world and, above all, their peoples — as part of humanity — to bring together weapons and armies” to liberate Palestine, saying that action must replace words.

Petro framed the call as a response to what he described as mass suffering in Gaza and argued that nations opposing genocide should unite to protect Palestinian civilians. The remarks drew immediate international attention and sparked debate about the role of military intervention in the conflict.
