Tunisian and Libyan Officials Discuss Expanding Military Collaboration

On Tuesday evening, December 10, 2024, Tunisian Minister of National Defense Khaled Souhili met with Libyan Military Intelligence Director, Major General Mahmoud Hamza, at the ministry’s headquarters.

The discussion focused on enhancing military cooperation and diversifying its areas between the two nations.

During the meeting, Tunisian Minister highlighted the strong fraternal ties between the Tunisian and Libyan peoples, emphasizing the importance of bolstering collaboration in the military domain. He underscored the need for joint efforts in training, countering terrorism, combating transnational crime, addressing irregular migration, and sharing expertise to strengthen operational capacities.

Major General Hamza praised the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Tunisia and Libya and stressed the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of training and capacity building.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to work together for mutual benefit, as outlined in a statement issued by the Tunisian Ministry of Defense.
