Tunisian President Kais Saied welcomed Italian Senate President Ignazio La Russa on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Carthage Palace.
The meeting highlighted the strong Tunisian-Italian ties and mutual efforts to enhance political and economic cooperation. Discussions included the concerns of Tunisians in Italy, celebrating the recent agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses.
President Saied also called for intensified efforts to dismantle human trafficking networks and emphasized Tunisia’s refusal to be a transit or destination for such activities, urging collective action for regional stability and victims’ dignified return.
