On Monday, January 27, 2025, thousands of displaced Palestinians started returning to Gaza City and northern areas of the Gaza Strip via Al-Rasheed Coastal Road in central Gaza.
Qatar announced new agreements between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel, enabling the return of displaced residents starting Monday morning. In exchange, Hamas has agreed to release captive Arbeli Yehud and others in the coming days.
