Tunisian Court Orders Release of Journalist Mohamed Boughalleb

On February 20, 2025, a Tunisian court ordered the release of prominent journalist Mohamed Boughalleb.

Boughalleb, 61, had been detained since March 2024 under charges stemming from a presidential decree aimed at combating « false news, » following a complaint from a civil servant.

Despite his release, he remains barred from leaving the country, with his next hearing scheduled for April 21
