Morocco Officially Cancels Eid al-Adha Sacrifice This Year

Morocco has officially decided to cancel the Eid al-Adha sacrifice this year due to a severe shortage of livestock following five consecutive years of drought. The decision was made to protect and preserve the existing herd.

On Wednesday evening, Moroccan Minister of Religious Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, read a message from King Mohammed VI urging Moroccans to refrain from the sacrificial ritual this year due to the current challenges, according to Moroccan newspaper « Telepress. »
