In Light of New Tariffs, Tunisia and U.S. Discuss Bilateral Ties and Trade Issues

Tunis, April 7, 2025 – The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ben Ayed, received today, at the ministry’s headquarters, the Ambassador of the United States to Tunisia, Joey Hood.

Discussions focused on strengthening the longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and the United States, with particular emphasis on expanding economic and commercial relations.

The two officials also addressed recent tariffs imposed on Tunisian exports to the U.S. market. They explored potential solutions to review the measures and reduce their impact on Tunisian trade.
