Maldives Bans Entry of I-s-r-a-e-l-i Passport Holders

Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu has approved a parliamentary decision banning Israeli passport holders from entering the country, citing strong solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing war in Gaza, according to Israeli media.

The new amendment to the country’s immigration law passed with overwhelming support in parliament. The ban applies to anyone traveling with an Israeli passport or ID, though dual nationals using non-Israeli documents can still enter.

Israeli tourism to the Maldives has already seen a sharp decline, with only 59 visitors recorded in February 2025 compared to over 11,000 in the same month in 2023.
