Tunisian, German Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Cooperation

Berlin Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti, during his working visit to Berlin for the UN Ministerial Conference on Peacekeeping, met on 13 May 2025 with Dr. Johann Wadephul, Germanys newly appointed Foreign Minister.

The two Foreign Ministers welcomed the growing Tunisian-German relationship, especially the growing degree of investment, trade, and tourism, and the important role of Tunisias local communities in fostering those ties.

They had discussions on deepening this cooperation, with a particular emphasis on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026, while both also expressed the desire to grow Tunisia-EU relations.

Both ministers highlighted, as well, the importance of reinforcing the UNs role as a global actor working towards peace and development objectives.
