UK suspends free trade negotiations with Israel due to Gaza war

The British government has announced a suspension of new free trade negotiations with Israel in response to its military actions in Gaza, where recent bombardments and a new ground offensive have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians.

Speaking to the Parliament on Tuesday, Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that the United Kingdom is also imposing new sanctions on illegal Israeli settler outposts in the occupied West Bank.

In a further diplomatic move, the Israeli ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotovely, has been summoned to the Foreign Office for formal discussions regarding Israel’s conduct.
