U.S.A : State of Emergency Declared in Los Angeles

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass declared a state of emergency and a three-day nighttime curfew starting June 11, 2025, following violent protests over President Donald Trump’s anti-immigration policies. The curfew, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, covers a one-square-mile area downtown.

Bass urged the Trump administration to stop immigration raids and opposed the deployment of Marines. California Governor Gavin Newsom accused Trump of using violence for political gain and violating the Constitution.

The protests, which began in L.A. on June 6, have now spread to Dallas and Austin, Texas.
