Putin and Trump Discuss Israel-Iran Tensions in Phone Call

Russian President Vladimir Putin and  U.S. President Donald Trump held a 50-minute phone call on Saturday to discuss rising tensions in the Middle East, particularly between Israel and Iran. Both leaders reportedly described the situation as « very alarming. »

According to Kremlin, Putin strongly condemned Israel’s recent strikes on Iranian territory and called the conversation “meaningful and very useful.” The two also touched on the potential resumption of talks over Iran’s nuclear program, with Trump expressing U.S. willingness to re-engage with Iranian negotiators.
