Trump Considers Joining Israel-Iran War

According to three U.S. officials who spoke to Axios, the U.S. President Donald Trump is seriously considering launching American strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities. The potential escalation comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

Trump is scheduled to meet with his national security team in the White House Situation Room at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday to make decisions regarding U.S. policy in response to the conflict. Sources say one of the key options under discussion is a targeted strike on Iran’s underground uranium enrichment facility at Fordow.

Trump, who returned early from the G7 Summit to focus on the Iran issue, told reporters aboard Air Force One that his objective is not a temporary ceasefire, but a « real end » to both the war and Iran’s nuclear program.
