Starbucks Closes Hundreds of Stores Amid Gaza War Boycott

Starbucks announced it will shut down hundreds of outlets as part of a major restructuring plan following declining profits and a widespread boycott over its stance on the Israel-Gaza war.

CEO Brian Niccol said the closures, targeting underperforming branches, will leave the company with 18,300 stores by the end of September. The move comes alongside a second wave of layoffs, cutting 900 additional jobs at headquarters and bringing total layoffs this year to about 1,900.

The company has faced growing global boycotts, fueled by accusations of supporting Israel through donations linked to the Israeli army.
