South African Ambassador to France Found Dead in Paris

French authorities announced on Tuesday that South Africa’s ambassador to France, Nkosinathi Emmanuel Mthethwa, was found dead outside the Hyatt hotel in Paris. His wife had earlier reported him missing after receiving a troubling message.

Local reports said the 58-year-old diplomat may have fallen from the 22nd floor of the hotel. Investigators confirmed his body was found at the base of the building and that the window in his room had been forced open.

While officials have not released further details, sources suggested he may have taken his own life, citing struggles with depression.
