In a bold daylight robbery, thieves stole priceless imperial jewels from the Louvre Museum in Paris in just seven minutes.
According to international reports, the heist happened early Sunday morning, when three or four masked thieves used a truck with a mounted lift to enter the Apollo Gallery. They broke windows to access the room and used small electric saws to open two display cases.
The stolen items include nine rare pieces from the collection of Napoleon and the Empress. The thieves then fled, leaving behind an electric bike believed to have been used in their escape.
The robbery took place between 9:30 and 9:40 a.m. local time, in one of the world’s most secure and famous museums.
