Green Tea: Benefits and Precautions

The German website Aponet.de, the official portal for German pharmacists, reported that green tea offers numerous health benefits thanks to its high antioxidant content, which strengthens the immune system.

It is especially beneficial for people at risk of type 2 diabetes, as it supports heart and vascular health by reducing inflammation in cells. Research shows that drinking four cups of green tea daily can lower cholesterol, body weight, and body mass index.

However, the site noted that green tea contains higher levels of tannins than black tea, which can reduce the body’s absorption of minerals. Therefore, people with anemia or iron deficiency should be cautious, particularly when drinking green tea with meals, as it may hinder iron absorption.
