At least 12 people were killed on Tuesday in a suicide bombing outside a courthouse in Islamabad, Pakistan, according to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The explosion occurred near the entrance of the court complex in a residential area of the capital, sparking chaos as lawyers and civilians rushed for safety. Witnesses reported seeing burning cars and several bodies at the scene.
The Pakistani Taliban later claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it targeted those issuing “un-Islamic” rulings and vowed to continue similar assaults. Authorities have launched an investigation as security forces sealed off the area.
