Tunisia, U.S.A. Discuss Strengthening Health Sector Partnership

Tunisia’s Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, met on Monday, 22 December 2025, with the United States Ambassador to Tunisia, Bill Bazzi, to discuss ways to strengthen strategic cooperation in the health sector.

The meeting focused on key areas of partnership, including digital health transformation, the use of artificial intelligence to improve healthcare services, human resources development and training, preventive health and scientific research, epidemiological surveillance and pandemic preparedness under the One Health approach, as well as promoting investment in the health sector.

Minister Ferjani reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to accelerating the implementation of joint health projects with the United States and stressed the importance of continued cooperation to support the reform and modernization of the national health system, in line with the vision of President Kais Saied.

For his part, Ambassador Bazzi expressed his country’s readiness to further strengthen health cooperation and encourage U.S. investment in Tunisia for the benefit of both peoples and Tunisia’s healthcare system.
