6.1-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southeast Taiwan

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck southeastern Taiwan on Wednesday, according to the Central Weather Administration, with no immediate reports of damage.

The earthquake occurred at 5:47 p.m. local time (09:47 GMT) at a depth of 11.9 kilometers. The epicenter was located in Taitung County, the agency said.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation, and no casualties or significant damage had been reported yet.
