Tunisia Participates in International Mining Conference in Riyadh

The Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning Samir Abdelhafidh took part in the fifth edition of the International Mining Conference held in Riyadh from January 13 to 15, 2026, under the theme “Minerals: Meeting the Challenges of a New Development Era.”

The conference brought together representatives from more than 100 countries, 59 international organizations, along with experts, academics, and leading global mining companies, to discuss the future of the minerals sector and ways to strengthen its role in supporting economic and social development.

On the sidelines of the event, the Tunisian Minister attended a ministerial meeting that highlighted the importance of mining as a key pillar of the global economy, job creation, and sustainable development while ensuring environmental protection. He also participated in the 10th Arab Consultative Ministerial Meeting on Minerals, which reviewed major Arab initiatives in the mining sector.

During the conference, Abdelhafidh attended the opening of the International Mining Exhibition, which featured 285 leading global companies, as well as several high-level sessions focusing on supply chains, investment sustainability, financing, digital transformation, and the role of the private sector in the future of mining.
