Tunisia took part in the second edition of the SALMA Dialogue Forum on business, development, South-South and triangular cooperation, held on Monday, February 3, 2026, in Dakar, Senegal. The Tunisian delegation was led by Wael Chouchane, Secretary of State in charge of Energy Transition.
During the opening session, Chouchane highlighted Tunisia’s experience in strengthening industrial competitiveness, notably through the Automotive Components Industry Competitiveness Pact, presented as a successful public-private partnership aligned with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
On the sidelines of the forum, he met with Senegal’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Serigne Gueye Diop, to discuss ways to enhance industrial cooperation, particularly in automotive and aeronautical components, metal industries, and the development of industrial zones and technology hubs, as well as improving access to African markets.
Launched in 2018, the SALMA Dialogue Forum brings together more than 50 countries to promote South-South and triangular cooperation through concrete economic and development partnerships.
