Tunisia and India Discuss Boosting Investment and Industrial Cooperation

Tunisia’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, met on Friday, February 6, with India’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Devyani Uttam Khobragade, to discuss strengthening bilateral investment and cooperation.

The meeting, attended by senior officials from both sides, focused on areas of mutual interest, particularly in the mining, industrial, and energy sectors. Discussions also addressed ways to revive and expand the production capacity of the Tunisian-Indian Fertilizers Company (TIFERT).

Both sides emphasized the importance of advancing the bilateral partnership, opening prospects for joint projects across various sectors. Minister Chiboub reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to supporting cooperation with India, especially in capacity building, highlighting the long-standing relations between the two countries.

For her part, Ambassador Khobragade stressed India’s commitment to further enhancing economic cooperation with Tunisia, particularly in the fertilizers sector.
