Tunisia and China Review Bilateral Cooperation and Upcoming Summits

Tunisian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ben Ayed, received Wan Li, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tunisia, on Monday, March 23, 2026. During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed a congratulatory message from the Chinese President to his Tunisian counterpart on the occasion of Tunisia’s Independence Day anniversary.

The talks provided an opportunity to review progress in bilateral relations and to stress the importance of advancing the implementation of the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in major development projects. Both sides also explored ways to strengthen the legal framework governing economic and trade cooperation, including facilitating greater access for Tunisian products to the Chinese market.

Discussions further addressed key upcoming multilateral events, notably the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation and the China–Arab States Summit, which are scheduled to take place in Beijing in June 2026.
