During an official visit to Berlin on March 24–25, 2026, Mohamed Ali Nafti met with his German counterpart Johann Wadephul to strengthen bilateral ties and celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations between Tunisia and Germany.
The two ministers highlighted the strong partnership between their countries, built on mutual respect, sovereignty, and shared values. They emphasized expanding cooperation across key sectors such as trade, technology, and sustainable development, with a focus on environmental protection and climate resilience under Tunisia’s 2026–2030 Development Plan.
Both sides also called for renewed momentum in Tunisia–EU relations, aiming for a more balanced and forward-looking partnership, with Germany playing a key role. Discussions further addressed regional and global challenges, including the situation in the Middle East, stressing the importance of international law and dialogue.
The visit also recognized the valuable contributions of the Tunisian community in Germany. The German Foreign Minister is expected to visit Tunisia later this year to continue strengthening this long-standing partnership.
