Tunisian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riyadh Chaoued, took part in the 6th Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held on October 16, 2025, in Doha, Qatar, under the theme “Local Experiences, Global Achievements: Success Stories in the Islamic World.”
In his speech, the Tunisian Minister praised the OIC’s efforts to enhance cooperation and share best practices among member states in addressing employment challenges.
He outlined Tunisia’s reform program based on social justice, innovation, and legislative modernization, citing the 2022 Constitution and Law No. 9 of 2025, which bans precarious labor practices.
Chaoued presented Tunisia’s 2035 Employment and Entrepreneurship Strategy, focused on creating decent jobs, boosting competitiveness, and strengthening human capital. He also highlighted the importance of vocational training and support for youth, women, and vulnerable groups through inclusive employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.
He concluded by calling for stronger cooperation among OIC members through unified job frameworks, better qualification recognition, and increased support for training and education.
The conference gathered labor ministers, international organizations, and experts from across the Islamic world.
