Tunisia Strengthens UNDP Cooperation for Sustainable Development

On November 4, 2025, Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, met with Mr. Abdallah Al Dardari, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Regional Director for Arab States at UNDP, during his visit to Tunisia.

The meeting highlighted long-standing cooperation between Tunisia and UNDP. The Minister praised UNDP’s support for development projects and stressed the importance of aligning the upcoming UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2027–2030) with Tunisia’s social and economic reform programme and the National Development Plan 2026–2030 to address development challenges, build resilience, and tackle climate change.

Mr. Al Dardari welcomed Tunisia’s multilateral engagement, reaffirmed UNDP’s commitment, and highlighted priorities including energy transition, climate action, green economy, water management, and food security. He also noted the strong 35-year partnership and pledged continued technical support and resources for Tunisia’s development goals.
