Tunisian Foreign Minister Receives New Japanese Ambassador

Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, received on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters, Saito Jun, who presented a copy of his credentials as the new Ambassador of Japan to Tunisia.

During the meeting, Minister Nafti reaffirmed the strong friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and Japan, praising achievements within the bilateral framework and through the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD). He also welcomed Japan’s continued support for Tunisia’s development and investment projects, ahead of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations to be marked next year.

Ambassador Saito expressed his pride in his appointment and his commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties. Both sides agreed to work closely to ensure the success of upcoming joint events, including the Tunisian-Japanese Economic Forum and the 12th session of the Tunisian-Japanese Joint Committee.
