Tunisia Explores Digital Cooperation with India and Sweden

Tunisian Minister of Communication Technologies Sofien Hemissi held separate meetings on Friday, January 30, 2026, with the Ambassadors of India and Sweden to Tunisia, as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the digital sector.

During his meeting with India’s Ambassador, Devyani Uttam Khobragade, discussions focused on advancing bilateral cooperation in capacity building, the exchange of expertise, and Tunisia’s potential participation in the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit scheduled to be held in India this year. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing joint projects supporting digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

In a separate meeting, Minister Hemissi received Sweden’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Cecilia Wramsten Usher, accompanied by the Director General of Ericsson Tunisia. The talks reviewed key areas of Tunisian–Swedish cooperation, particularly support for Tunisian startups, the development of digital infrastructure, and the organization of joint digital events.

Both meetings underscored Tunisia’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships to support digital innovation, infrastructure development, and emerging technologies.
