Tunisia, WHO Discuss Strengthening Cooperation

Tunisian Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani received on Friday, January 30, 2026, Ahmed Zouiten, Acting Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Tunisia, to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The meeting highlighted the long-standing and productive partnership between Tunisia and the WHO, reviewing key achievements, particularly in strengthening primary healthcare, supporting prevention and control programs for communicable and non-communicable diseases, enhancing epidemiological surveillance systems, and improving emergency health response mechanisms.

Both sides also emphasized continued cooperation in strengthening health governance and developing evidence-based public policies, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing health system reform, achieving universal health coverage, and ensuring health equity.
