Tunisia Warns of Regional Escalation and Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

Tunisia has expressed strong concern over the growing military escalation in the region, warning that the situation risks expanding into a wider conflict with serious consequences for regional and international stability.

In an official statement, Tunis described the current developments as “extremely dangerous,” cautioning against a slide into chaos and stressing the potential threat to global peace and security. The government reaffirmed its firm commitment to the principle of state sovereignty, condemning any attack on the territory of a sovereign nation or violation of its territorial integrity.

Tunisia also expressed outright rejection of any targeting of Arab states and declared its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Iraq.

Emphasizing its adherence to international law and the peaceful settlement of disputes, Tunis called on all parties involved to immediately halt military operations and exercise restraint. It urged a return to negotiations to prevent further escalation, safeguard civilian lives, and protect the region’s resources.

The statement concluded with a call on the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to preserve international peace and security.
