The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ben Ayed, held a working meeting on 11 March 2026 with the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, both officials reviewed the current state of the historic Tunisian–Italian relationship and discussed opportunities to further develop cooperation. They also exchanged views on several international issues.

Both sides welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations in recent months, noting that it reflects the commitment of the two countries’ leaderships to deepen ties at all levels while respecting mutual interests and the aspirations of their peoples.

They also emphasized the importance of expanding economic and financial cooperation and continuing coordination in multilateral frameworks, particularly within the United Nations, to support international peace, security, and collective efforts to address shared global challenges.
