Tunisia Hosts Congolese Delegation to Boost Bilateral Economic Ties

On December 13, 2024, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Ali Nafti, met with a delegation from the Kongo Central Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Vice President, Huguette Samu.

The delegation’s visit, from December 11-13, was part of an economic mission organized with the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX).

Minister Nafti emphasized the private sector’s role in strengthening economic ties between Tunisia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He expressed satisfaction with the visit’s outcomes, including two Memoranda of Understanding signed between the Kongo Central Chamber and the Chambers of Commerce in Sousse and Sfax, aimed at boosting investment and trade.

Vice President Samu highlighted the successful business forum and expressed interest in increasing investments and importing high-quality Tunisian products, particularly olive oil. The delegation also stressed the need for improved transportation and greater use of African trade agreements like ZLECAF and COMESA.
