Tunisia Signs Contract for the Construction of Four Regional Hospitals

On March 17, 2025, Tunisia’s Minister of Equipment and Housing, Sarah Zaafrani Zenzeri, oversaw the signing of a contract to construct and equip four regional hospitals in Ghardimaou, Jelma, Hafouz, and Makthar. The agreement, signed between the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the contractor, was attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador Mansour Khaled Al-Omar and officials from various ministries.

The 358.7 million TND project is co-financed by the Tunisian state budget and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. The Ministry of Equipment and Housing will oversee construction on behalf of the Ministry of Health.

Each hospital will have 105 beds and essential medical departments, including emergency services, surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, and intensive care, along with support facilities like laboratories, a blood bank, and a pharmacy.
