Tunisian President Kais Saied Receives Call from French President Macron

On March 21, 2025, President Kais Saied received a call from the French President Emmanuel Macron, who congratulated Tunisia on its Independence Day.

Saied called for an end to the genocide against Palestinians and stressed the need to rethink outdated international concepts. He reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to fair cooperation with all nations, according to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency.

He also highlighted the need to dismantle human trafficking networks in Africa and the Mediterranean, rejecting Tunisia’s role as a transit hub. Additionally, he urged new measures to recover Tunisia’s stolen assets, arguing that legal proceedings are too slow and ineffective.
