Spain Thanks Morocco and France for Power Support During Blackout

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez thanked Morocco and France for their help to deal with the widespread blackout that span the Iberian Peninsula on Monday. He said Morocco and France both helped to restore power using energy interconnections that exist with Spain.

Morocco provided key support by supplying up to 38 percent of its electricity production capacity to help restore power to Spain, using existing power lines that run primarily under the Strait of Gibraltar. Communications networks, transport systems, and flights were all affected by the blackout that took place across Spain, Portugal, and part of France.
